Class A CDL ELDT, Certificate of Completion. All training is in person at 368 Ferguson Ln, Shepherdsville, KY 40165: ELDT theory in the classroom, range maneuvers, and public-road driving. There is no distance-learning or self-paced component. Up to 2 students per class with the school's one instructor. On the range both training trucks run at the same time, one per student, under the instructor's supervision. On public roads one truck goes out with the instructor in the front seat; one student drives while the other rides along with a seat belt, then they switch. Range and road hours include driving and observation; each student is planned for about 55 hours at the controls (about 32.5 range and 22.5 road). About 12 classes a year, up to about 24 students: this is capacity, not a promise of a seat or a start date. Start date: to be announced. Completing the course does not issue a CDL.

About 20 weekdays (4 weeks), about 8 hours a day, including one night-driving session. Class A only: there is no Class B or upgrade track, and no credit is given for prior training or experience; every student completes the full 160 hours with the school.

Tuition

Total program cost is $5,350: tuition $4,875, registration and administrative fee $250, books and supplies $225. Range and road training and up to 40 hours of Retest Training are included at no extra cost. No deposits are collected before the license is issued.

School status

Licensure application pending with the Kentucky Commission on Proprietary Education (KCPE). The school will not enroll students, take payments or begin training until the license is issued. After licensure the school will register on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry.

Refund policy

This is the same refund policy printed in the catalog and enrollment agreement and posted at the school.

Applicant Rejected or Program Cancelled by the School: If CDL Trucking Academy LLC rejects an applicant, or cancels the program or the student's class before it begins, all money paid to the school (tuition, Registration & Administrative Fee, and Books & Supplies) is refunded in full.
Cancellation Before the First Day of Class: A student who cancels in writing before the first day of class receives a full refund of tuition ($4,875) and of the Books & Supplies charge ($225) if the books have not been issued. The $250 Registration & Administrative Fee is non-refundable.
Cancellation Within 5 Calendar Days: A student may cancel enrollment and receive a full refund of tuition ($4,875) within five (5) calendar days from the first day of class or the first scheduled lesson, whichever occurs first.
Withdrawal or Dismissal After the 5-Day Period: If a student withdraws or is dismissed after the 5-day cancellation period but before completing the program, the school refunds tuition according to the percentage of the 160 scheduled program hours completed as of the last date of attendance, as shown in the table below. Retest Training hours are not counted in this calculation.

Books & Supplies ($225): Non-refundable once issued to the student; refunded in full if not yet issued.
Retest Training: Retest Training (up to 40 hours) is included in the program price at no extra charge; it adds nothing to, and is not deducted from, any refund.
State and Third-Party Costs: Fees paid directly to the state (KYTC/KSP permit, testing, retest and license fees) or to outside providers (DOT physical, drug screen, background check, MVR) are not collected by the school and are not refunded by the school.
How to Cancel or Withdraw: Submit written notice to Admin@cdl-ta.com or deliver it in person to the School Administrator at 368 Ferguson Ln, Shepherdsville, KY 40165. The cancellation date is the date the notice is received; for a withdrawal or dismissal, refunds are calculated to the last date of attendance.
Refund Timeline: All refunds are paid within ninety (90) days of receipt of the written cancellation or withdrawal notice, or of the date of dismissal, to the original payer (including any employer or third-party sponsor).
Special Circumstances: CDL Trucking Academy LLC may consider documented extenuating circumstances (for example, military deployment or a medical emergency) and provide additional refunds or a leave of absence consistent with applicable law.
Legal Basis: Kentucky requires the school to establish, publish and adhere to this refund policy (791 KAR 1:080, Section 2(3); KRS 165A.370(1)(f) and (o)). The policy is given to each applicant at least five (5) days before the enrollment agreement is signed (791 KAR 1:080, Section 2(4)).
